Pakistan visa processing
Foreign Sikh yatris should apply through Pakistan’s official online visa system using the visa category applicable to their circumstances. Pakistan’s Directorate General of Immigration & Passports lists Pilgrim (Sikh/Hindu/Others) under Religious Tourism and states that foreign Sikh passport holders can be granted pilgrimage entry visas for designated pilgrimage locations.
Most overseas yatris apply under the Pilgrim Tourism sub-category for people with legal and permanent residence in a country other than India. After applying online, you may be asked to visit your nearest Pakistani mission to verify your documents. At the time of writing, the portal states that processing normally takes up to 10 working days and that the visa is 45 days, single entry.
Eligibility, supporting documents, processing arrangements and online availability can change, so applications should be made using the current official Pakistan visa guidance.
Our yatris enter Pakistan by air at Lahore or Islamabad on a Pakistani pilgrim visa and visit Kartarpur by road from Lahore. The Kartarpur Corridor is a separate crossing for Indian passport holders from the Indian side and is not part of our programmes.
Pakistan Online Visa System (visa.nadra.gov.pk)Security arrangements
The safety of yatris is a core planning priority. Where required, security arrangements for foreign visitors and Sikh pilgrims are coordinated with the relevant government, police and security authorities. For specific pilgrimage movements, security personnel may be allotted by the Government of Pakistan or local authorities according to the prevailing security plan, route and official requirements.
We do not describe security as a private guarantee. Government security deployments are subject to official approval, prevailing conditions and operational requirements. Yatris will be briefed on local instructions, restricted areas, photography rules and route changes where applicable.
Recommended planning
Apply for the relevant visa before finalising non-refundable travel arrangements and confirm current entry, permit and security requirements with official authorities.
Important note
Zain Skylinks can assist with itinerary information and practical guidance, but the final decision to issue a visa rests with the relevant Government of Pakistan authorities.
Tailored to your stay
