Gurdwara Rori Sahib: where Sikh history meets the teachings of Guru Nanak Dev Ji
Honest work, humility and truthful living
Eminabad, historically associated with Saidpur during the time of Guru Nanak Dev Ji, holds deep significance in Sikh tradition through its connection with Guru Nanak and Bhai Lalo, whose life represents honest work, humility, and truthful living. Gurdwara Rori Sahib marks the site traditionally associated with Guru Nanak Dev Ji staying on a bed of pebbles following the destruction of the town during Babur’s invasion in 1521. Known for its imposing brick architecture, central dome, smaller chhatri-style domes, sarovar, and surrounding historic structures, the gurdwara forms part of Eminabad’s wider Sikh heritage alongside Gurdwara Chakki Sahib and Gurdwara Khuhi Bhai Lalo. For yatris, the site offers an opportunity for prayer, reflection, and connection with the enduring Sikh message that honest labour and truthful living hold greater value than wealth gained through exploitation.
